Our focus areas
Turning Compassion into Sustainable Development
Our Lady of Hope Foundation works across interconnected areas of human and community development.
We recognise that vulnerability is multidimensional. A child attending a dilapidated school may simultaneously lack clean water, sanitation and access to technology. A young person may complete secondary education but lack the practical skills required to secure employment or establish an enterprise.
Our programmes therefore seek to address these challenges holistically.

Education
We invest in educational environments that enable children and young people to learn safely and effectively. Our interventions include the rehabilitation and reconstruction of school buildings, improvement of learning environments, provision of educational infrastructure and support for facilities essential to effective teaching and learning.

Skills Acquisition & Youth Development
We support vocational and practical skills development as pathways to employment, entrepreneurship and economic independence. Training areas may include tailoring and fashion, catering, ICT and digital skills, barbing, hairdressing and other market-relevant vocational competencies. Our approach seeks to connect learning with livelihoods.

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
Clean water and adequate sanitation are fundamental to health, dignity and educational participation. The Foundation supports boreholes, water-supply systems, toilet facilities and associated infrastructure in schools and underserved communities.

Humanitarian Assistance
We provide assistance to vulnerable people facing acute hardship, including disadvantaged and neglected children. Our humanitarian activities include feeding and other essential-support initiatives intended to address immediate needs while preserving human dignity.

Community Infrastructure
The Foundation invests in infrastructure capable of improving community wellbeing and strengthening institutions. These interventions may include educational facilities, water systems, sanitation facilities, security infrastructure, vocational centres and other community assets.

Economic Empowerment
We promote pathways towards economic independence by supporting skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and livelihood development. Our long-term objective is to help beneficiaries move from vulnerability towards greater economic resilience and productive participation.

Child and Youth Welfare
Children and young people are central to our development mandate. Our programmes seek to create environments in which they can learn, develop useful skills, access essential services and pursue opportunities capable of improving their future prospects.
Our programme footprint
Where We Work
Our Lady of Hope Foundation is committed to addressing development needs in underserved communities across Africa, particularly in Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda.
Our programme footprint currently reflects interventions in Imo State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria as well as Kenya and Uganda, with scope for expansion into other rural communities across Africa as resources and partnerships grow.
Nigeria
Amaigbo, Imo State
Amaigbo represents an important centre of the Foundation’s educational and community-development interventions.
At King Jaja High School, Amaigbo, our intervention portfolio includes:
- Reconstruction of three blocks of dilapidated school buildings.
- Construction of modern toilet and sanitation facilities.
- Development of a borehole and potable-water supply system.
- Construction of perimeter fencing.
- Development of a security gatehouse and entrance gate.
- Installation of security-lighting infrastructure.
At St. Gregory’s Comprehensive Secondary School, Amaigbo, the Foundation’s intervention includes the development and equipping of a modern Skills Acquisition and Development Centre.
The Centre is designed to support practical training through facilities for tailoring, catering, computer and digital skills, barbing, hairdressing and related vocational activities.
Together, these projects represent an integrated model of educational development that combines academic infrastructure, health and sanitation, security, vocational education and economic empowerment.
Nigeria
Abuja, Federal Capital Territory
The Foundation’s humanitarian activities extend to Abuja, where interventions have included support for destitute, neglected and vulnerable children, including feeding and essential humanitarian assistance.
